Where To Store Your Skincare Products

What are the best practices when it comes to storing your skincare? Read on below!

Tip #1: Keep your skincare products away from sunlight

To keep your products fresh as long as possible, it’s best to keep them away from sunlight. A direct exposure to sunlight causes an increase in temperature, which can possibly reduce the product’s shelf life. This is especially true for products formulated with vitamin C!

We advise that you store your skincare products in a cool and dark place (drawer or cabinet) so that exposure to light is minimized. For extra sensitive products like vitamin C serums, go ahead and store them in the fridge!

Tip #2: Keep your skincare products outside the bathroom

It is convenient to store your skincare products in the bathroom, so you can proceed to your routine right after a shower. However, it’s really not recommended. Why? When you shower, the temperature increases, which affects your skincare and makeup products. Plus, the steam from your shower creates a hot and damp environment, allowing bacteria to grow and prosper. You don’t want to be using a cream riddled with bacteria, do you?

Instead, place your skincare products in a vanity area near your bathroom. In this way, it’s still easily accessible after your shower!

Tip #3: Store certain kinds of products in the fridge

If your skincare does not contain any preservatives, store it in the fridge! Doing so prevents mold and other icky stuff from growing, allowing you to use the product for a longer time.

Any product with vitamin C is best stored in the fridge as well, since this ingredient is especially sensitive to heat and light. Make sure it’s tightly closed to delay the process of oxidation!

You can also store your toners, mists, essences, and sheet masks in the fridge for that extra cooling effect. It’s a good idea when you have large pores and/or blemishes, since cooled formulas constrict blood vessels to diminish redness and inflammation.

Do you mean the Klairs Gentle Black Sugar Charcoal Soap? For this product, we recommend that you chop it up into little pieces before using so that you could make the most out of it. Also, to prevent the “melting” of the soap, please make sure to store it in a dry place after using. Hope this helps! 🙂
