I bought this product due to the hype around it — it’s supposedly a holy grail product for acne-prone and sensitive skin due to its sole ingredient: mugwort. I’ve been using it every night since I got it and while it doesn’t give drastic, overnight results in a few days use, I can say that it has helped calm the redness and inflammation of the small zits that are just starting to form. It works best when used as a mask on problem areas (just pour a generous layer over a thin cotton pad and let rest on the skin for around 10-15 mins) but I admit it can get pretty expensive when used this way. It layers well under toner and with other serums so long as you let it absorb fully on the skin. It’s an essence so it has a thicker consistency compared to watery toners but it does add to the soothing and hydrating effect. It’s a nice addition to any routine but if I had normal skin without particular issues, I can live without it. I’m hoping it would improve my skin in the long term, but if I’m looking for a quick fix for the big zits, this isn’t it. I do think you need patience with this one to really feel the effects in the long-term.
